John Lundstram baffles Rangers fans as Celtic howler that 'cost the title' MAKES personal highlight reel

John Lundstram signed off his Rangers with an emotional send off to fans and a personal highlight reel - but one moment in the clip package has left fans scratching their heads.

Lundstram leaves Ibrox as a free agent having made his mark during his time in Govan - helping the club to lift the Scottish Cup and League Cup, but missed out on a 56th Premiership title The 30-year-old also was a key figure in the midfield engine room as Rangers narrowly missed out on Europa League glory in 2022. However, the form of the Scouser dipped in his final six months at the club.

The final run of his Rangers career was perhaps summed up by a nightmare showing at Celtic Park. Playing in his final ever derby in Glasgow's east end – Lundstram was shown a red card by referee Willie Collum following a VAR review for a heavy challenge on Alistair Johnston - just minutes after he bundled home Celtic's second goal into his own net.

Brendan Rodgers' side ran out 2-1 winners and all-but secured the title following Lundstram's horror show. But bizarrely, the departing star included the red card challenge on Johnston in his personal highlights alongside his emotional goodbye.

Eagle-eyed Rangers' diehards were left bemused on social media. One pointed out the lunge stating: "Goodbye/Highlight video on his Instagram actually has the red card tackle (along with his general form) that helped cost us a title."

Another chimed in on X: "Never been happier to see back of a player, be a great player for Cardiff or West Brom but should never ever be heartbeat of a team that has pressure to win every week." One punter added: "Well, it makes sense we didn’t win anything whilst he was playing."

Celtic fans also stuck the boot in, with one laughing: "No sign of his cracking finish for the second?" Another added: "Best Celtic signing ever."
