John Lundstram penalty to Rangers confusion as fans spot Dundee spot kick muscle memory

John Lundstram has been trolled over claiming for a penalty AGAINST Rangers during their Dundee clash.

The game could certainly have been doing with a spot-kick as it ended goalless to leave Gers' title chances hanging by a thread with no games in hand left and Celtic still three points clear. There was a moment, though, where the Dees felt they might've had a spot-kick for a handball by John Souttar inside the area, only to have it waved away by referee Don Robertson.

But eagle-eyed punters on social media poked fun at midfielder Lundstram as he appeared to stick his arm in the air as if to claim for a penalty - only to realise it was in his own box.

Sharing footage of the incident one fan wrote: "Rangers players are so conditioned to screaming for penalties that Lundstram claims it before realising its hit Souttar!"

Former Ibrox striker Kenny Miller backed ref Robertson's no pen call on Sky Sports commentary duty. He said: "It hits John Souttar on the hand, it comes off his leg first. There's also a case it might be outside the box. He (John Souttar) looks relieved, actually!"
