Yahoo News John Mulaney and Pete Davidson Postpone Maine Shows Following Mass Shooting
John Mulaney and Pete Davidson have announced they will reschedule two upcoming shows in Maine after a mass shooting in the state has left at least 18 dead.
The two comedians were scheduled to perform at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland on Saturday before a Sunday show at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. Both of those 8 p.m. shows will now happen at a later date after a suspect, believed to be U.S. Army reservist Robert Card, allegedly killed 18 people and wounded 13 more in a mass shooting at a bowling alley and a bar in Lewiston, Maine, the Associated Press reports.

“We are devastated by the events in Lewiston,” the statement from Mulaney and Davidson says. “Shows scheduled for this weekend in Maine on Saturday, 10/28 and Sunday, 10/29 have been postponed. We are thinking of you all.”
On Wednesday, amid the active shooter situation, Androscoggin County issued a shelter-in-place advisory with schools, businesses and more closing in communities as far away as 50 miles from Lewiston. Hospitals as far as Portland, which is 35 miles to the south, were ready to receive victims. President Joe Biden ordered U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff on Thursday following the tragedy, which took place in the second most populated city in Maine.
Author Stephen King, who was born in Maine, responded to the shootings in several posts on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
“The shootings occurred less than 50 miles from where I live. I went to high school in Lisbon. It’s the rapid-fire killing machines, people. This is madness in the name of freedom. Stop electing apologists for murder,” he wrote.
