John Travolta has paid tribute to his late son Jett on what would've been his 29th birthday.

The 67-year-old's eldest child died at the age of 16 in 2009 after suffering a seizure while the family holidayed in the Bahamas. Travolta and his late wife Kelly Preston confirmed after their son's death that he was autistic and had a history of seizures.

Sharing a black and white photo to Instagram on Tuesday of the actor looking toward his smiling son, Travolta wrote: "Happy birthday my beautiful Jetty. I love you."

Jett's sister Ella also remembered him, penning: "I love you Jetty. Happy Birthday❤️."

The 21-year-old posted a sweet picture of herself as a tot sitting alongside her big brother.

As well as Jett and Ella, Travolta and Preston had son Benjamin together in 2010.

Preston died aged 57 in July last year following a private two-year battle with breast cancer.

Announcing the news at the time, the Grease star shared: "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many.
