Johnny Depp Given A 'Hero's Reception' As He Performs With His Band Amid Domestic Abuse Allegations

Last week Amber Heard was granted a restraining order against her estranged husband Johnny Depp after she accused him of being physically abusive towards her, but despite being at the centre of a huge media storm Johnny took to the stage with his band Hollywood Vampires last night.

And, perhaps even more surprisingly, Johnny was given what was described as a “hero’s welcome” by festival-goers at the German show.

Looking relatively glum but refusing to address the massive elephant in the room, supporters chanted Johnny’s name inbetween songs as he performed with bandmates Alice Cooper and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry.

The event, which was at the Hessentag Festival in Herborn, west Germany, was a huge success as 8,000 revellers turning up to see the troubled actor, with the star cheering up by the end of his performance as he thanked the crowd and threw his clothes and towels into the sea of adoring fans and waved goodbye, repeatedly putting his hand on his heart.

Amber filed for divorce days after Johnny lost his beloved mother Betty Sue Palmer and turned up to court with a bruised eye, alleging that Johnny had thrown an iPhone at her and that she “feared for her life” following a “physically and emotionally abusive” relationship.

Court papers, which are being supported by one of the star’s neighbours, also claim that a “drunk and high” Johnny hit Amber before “smashing up their home”.

Johnny has denied all of the allegations against him and has been publicly backed by his seventeen-year-old daughter Lily-Rose and ex Vanessa Paradis.
