Johnny Depp's ex-managers say he physically abused Amber Heard

Johnny Depp’s former business managers have backed up Amber Heard’s claim that he was physically abusive toward her during their marriage.

The 31-year-old actress was granted a temporary restraining order against her then husband, 54, after she filed for a divorce.

At the time the couple’s friend, iO Tillet Wright, claimed Depp left the actress with a “busted lip and clumps of hair on the floor” after an “all-out assault”.

She called the police after he allegedly attacked Heard and wrote an essay detailing the alleged abuse and claiming that it was an ongoing issue in their marriage.

In a post for Refinery29, she wrote: “The reports of violence started with a kick on a private plane, then it was shoves and the occasional punch, until finally, in December, she described an all-out assault and she woke up with her pillow covered in blood.

“I know this because I went to their house. I saw the pillow with my own eyes. I saw the busted lip and the clumps of hair on the floor. I got the phone call immediately after it happened, her screaming and crying, a stoic woman reduced to sobs.”

Now legal documents filed in May claim Joel Mandel of The Management Group (TMG) was told Depp had violently kicked Heard, 31, in or around 2014.

“[Mr Mandel] was informed well after the fact through communications with various house staff and security that Depp had been extremely volatile and had sometimes ‘gotten physical’ with Heard,” TMG alleged, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE magazine.

The court documents also show that TMG allege Depp pressured an assistant to publicly accuse Heard of manufacturing damming text messages.

The legal papers are part of a lawsuit between Depp and TMG, which began when Depp sued the firm for fraud for $25 million. TMG filed a cross-complaint, claiming the actor lived an “ultra-extravagant lifestyle that often knowingly cost Depp in excess of $2 million per month to maintain, which he simply could not afford.”
