Jon Bon Jovi’s wife missed his new doco screening as she was stricken with Covid

Jon Bon Jovi’s wife missed the screening of his new documentary as she was stricken with Covid.

The ‘You Give Love a Bad Name’ rocker, 62, was hit by speculation his partner Dorothea Hurley was noticeably absent from the red carpet showing of Hulu film ‘Thank You Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story’ on Thursday (25.04.24) after he recently admitted that he hadn’t “been a saint” during their 34-year marriage.

But a representative for the singer – real name John Francis Bongiovi Jr – has said her absence had nothing to do with his admission and stated the 61-year-old karate teacher wasn’t able to make it as she had to quarantine after testing positive for Covid.

They told Page Six on Saturday (27.04.24): “As of this morning, she’s feeling well and recovered.”

A source also told the outlet Jon was “super sad” his wife couldn’t make the screening.

He tested positive for Covid in 2021 and a year later told the Star Tribune contracting the illness made him realise “how volatile we are” and “how fragile life is”.

Jon added: “It didn’t matter if you were young or old, American or Egyptian, no matter who you were or where you were from, the Covid-19 pandemic affected you.”

He also stated he and his family were “double vaxed”.

Jon raised eyebrows when he said about his marriage during a chat with The Independent: “These are all the wonderful clichés of rock stardom.

“It’s about never lying about having been a saint, but not being a fool enough to (mess) up the home life, either.”

Jon has also praised Dorothea’s tolerance for his infidelity, about which he wrote in his 1993 hit track ‘Bed of Roses’.

He sings on the tune: “Now as you close your eyes / Know I’ll be thinking about you / While my mistress she calls me / To stand in her spotlight again.”

Jon has been married to Dorothea since 1989 and the couple have four children – Stephanie, 30, Jesse, 29, Jake, 21, and 20-year-old Romeo.

The rocker has also told ‘Good Morning America’ “every day is a challenge” with his wife.

He said last week on the show: “The magic for me has just been growing together with Dorothea. Every day is a challenge and a change.

“But if you’re growing together, hopefully things will work out.”
