Jordan Peele’s Next Movie Set for Halloween Season 2026

Jordan Peele has a date to return to movie theaters. Universal has set an Oct. 23, 2026 release date for Peele’s next feature.

No other details were available, but the Halloween season date feels appropriate given the director’s penchant for horror.

After a career in comedy, Peele burst onto the scene as an A-list director with 2017’s Get Out, a film that earned Peele an original screenplay Oscar, as well as landing noms for picture, director and for best actor for star Daniel Kaluuya. It went on to gross gross $255.4 million globally on a budget of just $4.5 million.

Peele followed his Get Out success with 2019’s Us (256.2 million) and 2022’s Nope ($171.2 million). The filmmaker will produce via his Monkey Paw banner. As a producer, he has has the Marlon Wayans-starrer Him due out this September.

In an era in which it’s harder and harder to get audiences to theaters, Peele is a name-brand director who is a draw unto himself, while horror is one of the rare genres to consistently defy box office fatigue.

Previously, Peele’s next film was dated for Dec. 25, 2024, but that was before the dual writer and actors strikes upended Hollywood’s theatrical calendar. Universal-owned Focus Features has Robert Eggars’ Nosferatu on that date now. Peele teased the new date on X Monday.
