Joss Stone has announced the birth of her first child – a baby girl called Violet.

The Super Duper Love singer and her US boyfriend Cody DaLuz appeared in a video on her Facebook page to introduce their daughter – who was born by caesarean section – to her 1.3 million followers.

Stone, 33, said in the video titled Cooking With Joss: “I have a very special little bun I’ve been making for about nine months. And it’s cooked! It’s ready.

“Here’s one we made earlier. She’s so sweet. This is Violet Melissa Daluz.

“She’s was breach so I had to have a C-section which was delightful. They had to take her out the sunroof. It was quick. We didn’t know she was a girl until that moment... I wanted a girl.”

The Fell In Love With A Boy singer added: “Cody’s been amazing, he has done all the changes and literally everything and I was completely drugged and I couldn’t do anything. And the nurses came in and were like, ‘Your man is amazing’.”

Stone revealed she has been breastfeeding and confessed: “It really hurts, but it’s awesome.”

The singer wore a white dress with a green leaf pattern for the video, with baby Violet wrapped in a matching blanket and hat.

The loved-up new parents gaze at their daughter and each other in the clip as they gush about how wonderful she is.

DaLuz said: “I got the two most beautiful girls in the entire world, how lucky am I?”

Little is known about Stone’s boyfriend or how long they have been dating, but she announced the pregnancy in October last year on her podcast A Cuppa Happy.

She said: "Guess what? I am going to have a little baby!

"I am so excited to talk to you because I don’t know many pregnant women. I am week 17 and I just stopped being sick all the time."
