'Julian Assange is a Hero' Banner Flown Outside London Court During Extradition Hearing

Protesters held up a banner reading “Julian Assange is a hero” outside the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Wednesday, February 21, the final day of the Wikileaks founder’s extradition hearing.

The hearing, which Assange did not attend due to ill health, is a last-ditch effort to seek permission appeal an extradition decision made by then-Home Secretary Priti Patel.

Assange has been in UK prison since 2019 and is wanted by the US for disclosing secret military files in 2010 and 2011. Credit: Stephanie Gibaud via Storyful
