Julianne Hough Says She's 'Very Happy' Being Single but Her 'Heart Is Open' for 'Something Really Special' (Exclusive)

The 'Dancing with the Stars' co-host, who is partnering with Blender Bites, spoke to PEOPLE about the future of her dating life

Julianne Hough is single and open to mingling with someone as unique as she is!

"Look, my heart is open," the dancer, 35, tells PEOPLE, adding that she's "ready for whatever is right" for her and won't be "forcing" romance that doesn't feel natural.

The Dancing with the Stars co-host adds that she's enjoying life as a single woman. However, she remains "open to what comes."

"I'm very happy," she adds. "So, it's got to be something really special."

Hough is speaking to PEOPLE as part of her partnership with Blender Bites for its newly-launches Superberry Sport 1-Step Smoothie and says that all aspects of her life these days align with who she is, her lifestyle and what she stands for.

She was happy to partner with a female-founded company that focuses on health and is on a mission to make people's busy lives easier. Plus, the drinks are made from "natural, clean, organic ingredients."

Hough is an investor in the brand and as the partnership grew, she asked the company to create a blend focused on muscle recovery for athletes like herself.

The new super berry sport flavor of the drink is packed with protein and vitamins and dairy, gluten and nut-free.

"I need something that's great for my muscle recovery, but also for my brain and my focus for my creative side," she says.

Hough tells PEOPLE she's "proud" of her body and focuses on keeping it in shape to benefit her mental health, but isn’t opposed to the aesthetic that comes with a good workout either. 

“The result is that the body looks good, too, so I'm okay with that,” she says with a laugh. “I will say nutrition and food is probably the bigger focus for me now that I'm in my thirties.”
