Based on Benjamin Woolley's nonfiction book The King's Assassin, Mary & George is set to premieres April 5.

According to a synopsis from the network, the seven-part limited series is ”inspired by the scandalous true story of a treacherous mother and son who schemed, seduced and killed to conquer the Court of England and the bed of King James I.”

The summary continues, “Through outrageous scheming, the pair rose from humble beginnings to become one of the richest, most titled and influential players the English court had ever seen, and the King’s most trusted advisors.”

The series also stars Tony Curran as King James I alongside Nicola Walker, Niamh Algar and Sean Gilder.

Back in November, Moore praised her Mary & George costar Galitzine for his work ethic and kind nature, likening him to her May December costar Charles Melton, 33.

“I would say the thing that’s interesting about both Nick and Charles — they’re both such lovely, gracious people. Really, really kind — very available, very hardworking,” the Oscar winner, 63, told Forbes.

"They care very much about their work. I was incredibly impressed with both of them, with their manners and their kindness. Here are these two young men who are absolutely gorgeous and their careers are kind of blossoming — all these doors are opening for them, but they just continue to be really wonderful, lovely team-oriented people.”

Moore was nominated for a Golden Globe for her turn as May December's Gracie Atherton-Yoo, a woman who made headlines 20 years ago for entering into a relationship with a teenager. The love affair between the pair began when Gracie was 36 and Joe (Melton), was just 13.
