Julie Lin wins big at Golden Chopstix Awards while Glasgow restaurant named best in Scotland
Top Glasgow chef and TV star Julie Lin has taken home a top prize at a UK-wide awards while one Glasgow restaurant was also named the Best on Scotland.
Julie was delighted to be picked out as the Influencer of the Year at The Golden Chopsticks Awards which were co-founded by TV personality Gok Wan to celebrate East and South East Asian cuisine in the UK.
Taking to Instagram, Julie posted: "Ok, she won! Food influencer of the year 2024.
"Where to begin with gratitude! First of all I’d like like say something I forgot to during my speech because I was over excited I’d like to dedicate my award to chef Ken Hom who has been on our screens for FORTY years and giving so many people who look like me inspiration to pursue a dream.

"You are the original influence and inspiration. And someone I’ll forever look up to!
"I have absolutely no idea how the algorithm works I just post things that bring me joy, and it is an absolute pleasure to spread Asian joy on here. Thank you! Crying!"
And she wasn't the only Glasgow winner, multi-cuisine restaurant COSMO Authentic World Kitchen also took home Best Restaurant in Scotland.
Considered one of the food industry’s hottest tickets in town, The Golden Chopsticks Awards took place in London on April 29.
Recognised for their East and South East Asian cuisine, COSMO, which has a restaurant in the St Enoch Centre offers Teppanyaki style dishes cooked over roaring flames, as well as their Chinese menu which allows guests to tour the Asian continent, enjoying everything from Cantonese to Sichuan, Shandong and Fujian at live cooking stations in the venue.
