Juneteenth writing contest entries now being accepted

Mar. 31—VALDOSTA — Southside Library Boosters is currently planning Valdosta's 32nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration to be held June 14 and 15.

The theme will be "We Are Family."

This year's program will include a writing contest — one-page essay, short story or poetry. The focus of the entry should address "Why our community should celebrate Juneteenth."

Entry deadline is Thursday, May 16, by 5 p.m.
