And Just Like That s2 features tribute for late Stanford Blatch star
And Just Like That season 2 spoilers follow.
And Just Like That... season two has paid tribute to late star Willie Garson during its premiere.
Fans will remember Garson for playing Carrie Bradshaw's best friend Stanford Blatch, who was often seen giving her advice on fashion and relationships. He would later reprise his role for the reboot series, filming three episodes before he passed away in 2021 from pancreatic cancer.
During the first episode it was revealed that Stanford and Carrie had made up since his move to Japan in season one, with Stanford even sending her a dress to wear on the red carpet at the Met Gala.

"Oh, thank you. My friend Stanford sent it to me from Japan," Carrie replied, when complimented on the silk kimono she was wearing in the scene.
The character's on-screen departure had previously been explained by having Stanford being called away from New York for work purposes before later relocating to Japan. He also sent a letter to Carrie apologising for leaving without saying goodbye, with the season two reference now giving fans closure over their friendship.
Sarah Jessica Parker and director Michael Patrick King previously addressed Gibson's role in the reboot, telling Vulture in 2021 that he had intended to have a larger role in the show.

"[Willie] intended and wanted to complete the entire season. He had a very significant story line, more so than ever, so it was my fervent hope that he would be able to do it all," Parker explained.
"If Willie could be there and do one more episode or one more scene, he would have done it. But he knew what he needed to do to take care of his son and of himself."
And Just Like That, the sequel to Sex and the City, airs on Max in the US and Sky Comedy and NOW in the UK.
