Yahoo News And Just Like That won't bring back major character in season 3
And Just Like That star Sara Ramirez will not return for the upcoming third series.
The actor plays comedian Che Diaz on the Sex and the City spin-off, appearing in both the first and second seasons.
Ramirez (who like Che identifies as non-binary in real-life) will not reprise their role in the show's third series, which was renewed by Max in August last year. It is understood that scripts for the new season are still being written though, with a future guest star or cameo appearance not ruled out.

Che was first introduced as a friend and colleague of protagonist Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), with the two working together on relationship podcast The X, Y and Me, alongside Jackie Lee (Bobby Nee).
Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) meets Che at Big's (Chris Noth) funeral in the first season and the two begin an extra-marital affair. After divorcing long-time husband Steve, the lawyer enters into a relationship with the non-binary comedian.
And Just Like That season 2 sees Miranda travel to Los Angeles to be with her new partner, who is busy shooting a comedy pilot. However, the time together proves to be tumultuous and Che ultimately decides to call time on their relationship with Miranda in episode six.

Ramirez's character has proved divisive with viewers and the Grey's Anatomy star previously spoke out against the backlash that first arose in season one.
"I'm very aware of the hate that exists online, but I have to protect my own mental health and my own artistry," Ramirez told The New York Times in 2022.
They also reminded viewers that they're "also not in control of the writing" and are an actor portraying a character: "I don't recognize myself in Che."
No further cast announcements have been shared about And Just like That season three, though it's thought that leading ladies Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis will return as Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte.
And Just Like That is available on NOW, Sky and HBO Max.
