Justin Timberlake claims to have made peace with Janet Jackson after their disastrous Super Bowl performance back in 2004.

During the now-infamous halftime show, Timberlake ripped off part of Jackson’s costume and accidentally exposed the singer’s right breast to the world, dubbed "nipplegate".

Nearly 14 years later, the SexyBack singer has now revealed that the pair have “made peace” after the wardrobe function that saw Jackson fined and blacklisted by US radio and broadcaster MTV.

He told Zane Lowe: “It’s just one of those things where you go like, ‘Yeah, what do you want me to say? We’re not going to do that again.”

Timberlake continued to the Beats 1 presenter: “I stumbled through it. To be quite honest, I had my wires crossed.

"It's just something that you have to look back on and go, 'OK, you can't change what's happened, but you can move forward and learn from it.”

The popular artist will make his return to the sporting event at the US Bank Stadium in Minnesota on February 4 2018.

Timberlake, 36, who will release his album Man of the Woods later this week, had quite a unique party to celebrate the new music.

At the forest-themed event in New York earlier this week, journalists were served bugs including ants and grasshoppers.

Timberlake revealed the inspiration behind the new release, which he describes as a “personal album”, comes from his son Silas, two, who’s moniker means “living in the woods”.
