Kasabian cancelled a gig in Belfast just minutes before they were due to hit the stage on Tuesday night (August 22).

The band wrote in a statement on Twitter: "It is with great regret, due to illness, we cannot perform at Customs House Belfast tonight. Kasabian."

Concert organisers are trying to re-schedule the gig, and said in a statement (via BBC News): "Due to a last-minute illness we regret that the band have had to cancel tonight's show.

"We are working at this minute on scheduling a new date for Belfast. We will communicate with all ticket buyers via Ticketmaster and on the Custom House Square social media.

"Tickets will remain valid for the new date. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

It's not great timing, since Kasabian are due to headline Reading and Leeds Festivals 2017 this weekend (August 25-27), alongside Muse and Eminem.

The Kasabian performance is being billed as a UK festival exclusive.

The group last headlined back in 2012 alongside The Cure and Foo Fighters, and said: "It's been five years, and as a band we have come a long way since then.

"We're looking forward to playing tunes from the new record and bringing the mosh pit to Reading & Leeds Festival!"

Get well very soon, then...
