Kate Garraway says husband 'still with us' as he continues to battle coronavirus
Kate Garraway has said her husband is “still with us” as he continues to battle the coronavirus.
Derek Draper was taken to hospital a month ago suffering from the virus and Good Morning Britain star Garraway recently said the last few weeks have been the hardest of her life.
She shared another update with fans on Thursday as she joined in the Clap For Carers event, saying it was a “ghastly time” but that there was plenty to be thankful for.
She wrote on Instagram: “So much to be grateful for tonight.
“Derek is still with us but what a battle it is.

“So grateful too for our amazing #nhs doing so much for Derek everyday - wonderful to see all the support for them & our key workers every Thursday.
“We can’t thank them enough can we? So brave.”

The TV star went on: “Sending love to everyone during this ghastly time, particularly all those struggling for whatever reason - none of this is easy.
“Thank you so much for your messages - they mean so much to me.
“Love and so much thanks from me and the whole family.”
She added the hashtags “#staypositive #hope #standtogether #nhs”.
Garraway and Draper – who are both 52 – have been married since 2005.
Last week the presenter took to her personal blog to reveal her family’s struggle.
“I am afraid that he remains in a deeply critical condition and is very ill, but he's still alive so there is hope,” she wrote.
“It remains an extremely worrying time for us all and the last couple of weeks have been the hardest of my life."
Garraway and Draper have two children together - Darcey, 14, and Billy, 10.
