Kate Garraway called 'an inspiration' by emotional 'Life Stories' viewers

Kate Garraway has been praised as "an inspiration" by viewers of her Life Stories interview with Piers Morgan last night.

The final episode of Piers Morgan's Life Stories aired on ITV on Sunday evening before his old Good Morning Britain co-star Garraway takes over as host and the programme marked the change by signing up Garraway as Morgan's last interviewee for the show.

Garraway, 54, spoke movingly about her husband Derek Draper, the UK's worst affected living COVID patient who spent 13 months in hospital and still needs round-the-clock care now he is back at home.

Viewers of the programme commented on how much they loved the TV presenter and how inspirational they thought she was.

One person tweeted: "I’m completely blown away by the amazing @kategarraway Her inner strength, courage, love, dignity and total humility in the face of such trauma is inspiring. I just know she will be giving so many others so much hope in the face of their own struggles. #inspiring #LifeStories"

The audience included members of Garraway's family and her two children with Draper, Billy and Darcie, who shared how proud they were of their mum.
