Kate Middleton has explained the three big side effects she is suffering from as a result of her chemotherapy treatment. The Princess of Wales, 42, announced in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer, saying the news had come as a 'huge shock'.

Tonight she issued an update on her health and her treatment as she revealed she was continuing to receive treatment. Kate also announced that her chemotherapy would continue for several months yet.

Revealing she has 'good days and bad days', the Princess spoke about the physical toll the treatment was having on her. In a personal message, she said: "I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.

"On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.

"My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home."

The Princess added: "On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting." It comes as Kate announced she was feeling well enough to attend Trooping the Colour, also known as the King's birthday parade, tomorrow - her first public event since December.

She will ride in a carriage with her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis and is expected to appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace later in the day.
