Yahoo News Kate Middleton seen behind the scenes at Trooping the Colour as she prepared for first public appearance
A video released by Kensington Palace shows the Princess of Wales with her children as they waited for a carriage to take them to Trooping the Colour. The video clip gives a behind the scenes glimpse as she prepared to make her first public appearance this year since her cancer diagnosis.
Kate confirmed on Friday that she would be attending the ceremony, but warned that she was “not out of the woods yet”. The 42-year-old has been receiving chemotherapy for an undisclosed form of cancer which was discovered following abdominal surgery in January this year.
There was uncertainty around whether she would be attending as she missed the rehearsal last weekend. However, she left Buckingham Palace in a carriage with her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to attend the event.

She was greeted with cheers by crowds in The Mall in a carriage procession and she looked relaxed in the glass state coach. Members of the family, including her husband the Prince of Wales, surrounding the coach on horse back.
In a change from last year, Kate did not join senior family members on a dais, but watched the spectacle from the Duke of Wellington’s former office with her children. Now Kensington Palace has shared a video on the social media platform X which showed Kate and her children waiting for the carriage.
It shows Kate stroking Princess Charlotte’s pony tail as they wait on the palace steps. Kate wore a white dress with striped detailing and a white hat, her hair was up in a twisted chignon. Princes George and Louis looked smart in matching suits while Princess Charlotte wore a dress.
The video has been flooded with comments from well-wishers. One user wrote: “A beautiful behind the scenes glimpse! So glad to see you Catherine.” Another added: “You’re looking so well Catherine. A joy to see you and your beautiful family today.”
