Katie Maloney (Sort Of) Praises Tom Schwartz's Style After Telling Him He Looked Like a Couch: 'Curtains Vibe' (Exclusive)
At BravoCon 2023, Katie Maloney told her ex-husband he looked like a couch in a floral-patterned jacket. She gave him further feedback at the 'Vanderpump Rules' premiere
If you can't comment on your ex-husband's style, on whose can you?
After telling Tom Schwartz he looked like "a couch" in the floral-patterned jacket he wore to BravoCon 2023, Katie Maloney is offering her wardrobe critique once again — but this one is a bit more positive.
On Thursday night while Maloney, 37, was speaking to PEOPLE in an exclusive interview at the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 Premiere Red Carpet Schwartz, 41, approached her from behind wearing an all-white suit.
"You look gorgeous," he told her, gesturing to her glam leopard gown over a sheer lace top.
"You don't look like a couch!" she reassured him, before laughingly added, "A little bit of a curtains vibe." (Schwartz was wearing an ivory linen suit over a white turtleneck.)

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE back at at Bravo Con in November, Schwartz shared how he's been reinventing his wardrobe after hitting a slump in the style department. He explained how he's getting his “groove back” by working with the stylist duo, The Solomon Sisters, made up of siblings Elana and Dina, to level up his outfits.
“I'm not known for my style. I've been extra schleppy lately and I was thinking I could also use a little bit of a symbolic reset,” he said, adding that he’d been a “sad sack” and a “bit of a basket case” for the last couple of years.

During the interview, the Bravo star shared how his closet isn’t the only part of his life that’s on the up and up. "I need to put more work into myself and I've been doing that. I've been working out, eating healthier. I've been spending more time with my family, which is bringing me so much joy," he said.
He's been getting back on track after a difficult past year and a half that has played out onscreen and off. "I felt like I was kind of falling apart," he added.
In 2022, the Minnesota native split from Maloney (with whom he was in a 12-year relationship) and, earlier in 2023, underwent scrutiny for supporting his best friend and business partner Tom Sandoval, through a public cheating scandal aired on season 10 of the show in March. “Being publicly shamed is not fun,” Schwartz said.
Behind the scenes, Schwartz was also focused on being there for his family through many health issues: I "almost lost my brother, my dad and my other brother getting testicular cancer, [they had] to undergo chemotherapy.".
But these days, Schwartz, who recently joined season 3 of Bravo’s Winter House, finally feels like he's "getting it together again" and is "more confident and happier."
"Homeostasis is back," he added.
