EEK.

The pair were spotted chatting at Sir Elton John’s birthday party like normal and polite human beings would do, but the paparazzi spotted them and later sent helicopters round to Ryan’s house to see if they could picture the stars together again.

In an attempt to bat the pesky paps away, the ‘Cruel Intentions’ star tweeted to his 80,000 that Katy “is not here”.

Ryan, 42, also replied to a fan to clarify that he didn’t mind people thinking that they could be dating but the “low flying pervs hovering periodically” were too much.

Fair point.

Katy – who has a whopping 97 MILLION followers on Twitter – cordially responded and joked about being trapped in Ryan’s basement.

After Ryan failed to respond to her quick wit, the ‘Roar’ singer realised it would be best not to steer any more attention in his direction and apologised for the press intrusion.

Katy, 43, was previously married to British comedian Russell Brand, 41, last dated Orlando Bloom, 40, for a year but they announced last month that they were “taking respectful loving space” or in other words, breaking up.

In a joint statement to Us Weekly, they said: “Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time.”
