Kaye Adams says she 'struggled to sleep' after 'Strictly' rehearsals

Kaye Adams has admitted she 'struggled to sleep' after her early Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals.

The Loose Women host is among the contestants on this year's edition of the dancing competition which also serves as the 20th anniversary of its launch.

In a tweet, Adams revealed that she had begun training for the competition which is set to start on 17 September.

Adams wrote: "Struggled to sleep last night after the first day of @bbcstrictly strictly rehearsals. Tried to count sheep but couldn’t get past 5,6,7,8."

This year's version of Strictly Come Dancing features 15 different celebrities competing including actor Will Mellor, singer Matt Goss, former footballer Tony Adams and Coronation Street star Kym Marsh.

Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds, comedian Ellie Taylor, singer Fleur East and former Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton are also among the lineup.

They are joined by comedian Jayde Adams, presenter Hamza Yassin, EastEnders star James Bye, actor Molly Rainford and radio DJ's Richie Anderson and Tyler West.

It will also be the first season without professional dancer Oti Mabuse since 2015 as she has left the show to become a judge on Dancing on Ice.

Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Anton du Beke and Motsi Mabuse are returning to the judging panel with it confirmed that Bruno Tonioli has permanently left the show after missing the last two years due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.

Adams recently acknowledged that there was "tension" between the Loose Women hosts.

Speaking about the rumours that the cast of the show did always get along, Adams told Metro: "Have there been times of tension between individuals? Yes, there have."

She added: "I’m not going to deny that there are occasions when people maybe have a bit of a beef with somebody else but it’s nothing that hasn’t been fixable."

Strictly Come Dancing begins on BBC One on 17 September.
