Keir Starmer criticises Matt Hancock for leaking sensitive WhatsApp messages

Sir Keir Starmer has criticised Matt Hancock for leaking WhatsApp messages about the Covid pandemic to the press.

Journalist Isabel Oakeshott said the former health secretary shared messages with her so the pair could write his Pandemic Diaries book.

Messages allege that Mr Hancock ignored expert advice to test for all residents going into English care homes for Covid when he was a minister.

Speaking at Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday (1st March), the Labour leader called the leaking of messages an “insulting and ghoulish spectacle” for families to witness.
