Who is in Keir Starmer's Labour cabinet, including the new Welsh Secretary
Keir Starmer is now Prime Minister after leading Labour to victory in the general election, and first item on the agenda is appointing his cabinet.
It has been a whirlwind 24 hours and in Wales, the political map has been redrawn. Just 32 seats were contested at this election following boundary changes and the Conservatives have been completely wiped out for the first time since 2001, losing all 14 seats they had after the 2019 election.
Nationally, Labour completed a landslide victory, winning 412 seats, to the Tories' 121, with one seat left to declare. The Lib Dems have won 71, the Scottish National Party 9 and Sinn Féin 7.
Below is a full list of the cabinet jobs announced so far, including the Welsh Secretary, Jo Stevens, who won her seat in Cardiff East with a majority of 15,833, taking home a 40.5% share of the vote. Join our WhatsApp news community here for the latest breaking news.

Reacting to her appointment Jo Stevens said: “It is a real privilege to be appointed to the Office of the Secretary of State for Wales and to serve in Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s first Cabinet. Wales has a crucial role to play in powering the UK’s national renewal, contributing to our energy security and the industries that will deliver a prosperous future.
“My absolute priority is to deliver for Wales and work with the Welsh Government to stabilise the economy, drive investment and create jobs. As a result of our plans, people across Wales will share in that prosperity and we will tackle deprivation and poverty together.”
She added: “Under my leadership the Wales Office will once again be a steadfast advocate for Wales from within the UK Government, ensuring that Wales’ needs are prioritised, and its voice heard. I am determined to reset the relationship between the UK and Welsh Government. We will co-operate and work together to deliver better results for people in Wales. I am honoured to serve Wales and its people and bring about the change that our new government has promised.”
