Keith Richards is not a rock fan.

The 80-year-old Rolling Stones guitarist claims he hasn't listened to rock bands for decades and much prefers his beloved blues.

Keith is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "No. I never listened to rock bands. I grew up, I played Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters.

I sold it back to America.

"That's what we did, and then we started to add our own things to it but I'm not really interested in what followed us."

Keith also can't get no satisfaction from rap music, which he says is for "tone-deaf people".

He previously told New York Daily News: “What rap did that was impressive was to show there are so many tone-deaf people out there.

“All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy. There’s an enormous market for people who can’t tell one note from another.”

Meanwhile, Sir Mick Jagger previously revealed he used to get fed up with Keith playing Beatles tunes non-stop when they shared a flat.

The '(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction' group's frontman admitted a lot of their songs were inspired by their former rivals' pop hits because Keith was obsessed with them.

Speaking to Mojo magazine, he said: "Originally, Keith was the pop person really.

“I mean, I used to just write lyrics to his pop tunes, and he wrote all these pop tunes because he listened to The Beatles all the time.

“Drove me crazy listening to The Beatles when we shared a flat together.

“Keith sort of left that behind in a way, but he wrote Ruby Tuesday, Let’s Spend The Night Together – these were all Keith’s songs.

“But yeah, people will say ‘Keith was the one that liked blues.'

“I really like pop music now, listen to it all the time – Keith doesn’t.

“I still like blues, but I like dance music and Keith doesn’t really like it.”
