Kent Police appeal for witnesses with 'vital information' months after Dover crash that killed pedestrian

A pedestrian in his 50s died in hospital weeks after a collision in Dover last year, police have confirmed as an appeal for witnesses is renewed. This is after ongoing enquiries led officers to believe members of the public were in the area and have “vital information” but have not yet spoken to the force.

The incident happened on Folkestone Road close to Dover Priory railway station shortly before 7pm on Saturday, December 9. Police attended the incident at the time.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit have since been carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision, including reviewing CCTV footage. They now believe there were members of the public in the area who have not yet spoken to to them and who could have vital information.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “On Saturday, December 9 2023 at about 6.50pm, officers attended the scene of an incident involving a black Ford Focus and a pedestrian on Folkestone Road, near to the railway station.” They continued: “The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to a London hospital where he sadly died from his injuries a few weeks later.”
