Kerry Katona Reveals She’s ‘Heartbroken’ About George Kay Split

Kerry Katona has revealed that she’s ‘heartbroken’ to be getting divorced for a third time, after her marriage to George Kay didn’t work out.

The 35-year-old announced that she’d ended things last month, just over a year after the two tied the knot.

George was charged with assault and unlawful possession of a stun gun following an alleged domestic incident at their home last month.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Kerry admitted that she’s ‘heartbroken’ about their divorce but that there’s ‘no going back’ for the couple, which ‘hurts the most’ for her as she ‘knows he is a good person’.

She explained: “I am heartbroken. It’s like somebody died. He was my best friend.

“I just feel like there’s been a death and I feel guilty, like it’s my fault. Like I’ve done something wrong. I feel completely embarrassed, and ashamed. It’s so hard. I just so wanted the marriage to work.”

She added: “I miss him every day but I know it’s not healthy. I think there will always be a part of me that will love George. I think the hardest thing is walking away from somebody you love so much – but it’s the right thing to do.”

The couple gave their relationship a second go after George originally moved out of their home, but this time, they’ve split for good - and Kerry won’t be marrying again.

Explaining why, she said: “It’s just not meant to be. I don’t think I could bring another man into my children’s lives ever again. That is just not fair.

“How can everyone else last in their marriage and I can’t?”

For now though, she isn’t ready to take off her wedding ring, and admits: “I cry myself to sleep.”

The Atomic Kitten singer was previously married to Mark Croft and Brian McFadden. She has five children - Molly, 14, Lily, 12, Heidi, eight, Max, seven, and daughter Dylan-Jorge, 19 months.
