Kevin McKidd Praises 'Amazing' Girlfriend Danielle Savre: 'I Feel Lucky on Many Levels' (Exclusive)
The pair, who each star in a hit Shonda Rhimes series, made their red carpet debut in November after first being spotted together in June
There's nothing but love for Kevin McKidd and Danielle Savre!
The Grey’s Anatomy star couldn’t help but gush about his girlfriend at The Walt Disney Company’s 2023 Emmy Awards Celebration in Los Angeles on Monday.
“Everything's great,” McKidd, 50, told PEOPLE at the post-Emmys party that he attending with Savre, 35. “We're really happy and she's an amazing human being, so I feel lucky on many levels in my life right now.”
McKidd and Savre, who stars in the Grey’s spinoff Station 19, were first spotted together in June, the same month he finalized his divorce from ex-wife Arielle Goldrath.

A few weeks after being seen in Lake Como, Italy, McKidd shared a video of him and Savre on a safari in Lower Zambezi, a national park on the north bank of the Zambezi River in Africa. The Rome actor called the adventure "breathtaking, awe-inspiring, humbling and uplifting."
In November, McKidd and Savre made their red carpet debut at the Global Down Syndrome Foundation's 15th Annual Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show in Denver. McKidd told PEOPLE Monday that his real-life Shonda Rhimes crossover relationship “just kind of happened.”
Earlier in the night at Monday's Emmys ceremony, Grey’s Anatomy stars Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, Ellen Pompeo, James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson reunited to present the award for outstanding supporting actor in a limited or anthology series or movie, during which Wilson, 54, noted the show’s record-breaking run.
“I thought it was lovely to see Grey's Anatomy up there represented and being honored for being the longest-running medical TV show in American TV history, which is crazy to me,” McKidd said. “It's wild. I mean, it's like, I don't know how that happens. I mean, we're all still pinching ourselves. Every day we go to work and go, ‘What? It's still going?’“

The Scottish star recalled never thinking the ABC medical drama would run for as long as it has when he first began on the series.
“When I started on the show in season 5, because I've been on it now 15 years, people then were going, ‘I think we've got one more season. What do you think?’” McKidd recalled. “Sitting around talking about how long you think you've got. Most actors, if you get on a show for five years, you're lucky.”

He credited Grey’s longevity to “the quality of the writing” and “the quality of the stories that we're telling."
“It's a blessing that the fans have stuck with it like they have,” McKidd said, “and we don't take that lightly.”
Last year, ABC picked up Grey’s Anatomy for a 20th season, which will see Pompeo, 54, reprise her role as Meredith Grey after leaving the show in season 19.
