Kew the Music festival lineup, tickets, timings and how to get there

Kew Gardens is gearing up for another year of its annual music festival Kew the Music.. Now in its fourteenth year, Kew the Music will see musical icons perform in the glorious grounds of London's most famous botanical garden.

The week-long festival of summer concerts kicks off on Monday, July 8.

We've rounded up all the details you need to know including who is headlining, where to get tickets, and how to get there.

Who is performing?

Monday, July 8 - An Evening with Monty Don

In a special spoken word show, Gardeners' World presenter Monty Don will share his passion for horticulture and the role it plays in our wellbeing. Interviewed by BBC Radio 2's Tina Deheley, the veteran broadcaster will share tales from his career, detail his favourite gardening practices, and reveal how he fell in love with the natural world.

Tuesday, July 9 - Mika

Mika will take to the stage on night two. Best known for hits such as Grace Kelly, Golden, and Relax Take it Easy, the former Eurovision Song Contest host is sure to deliver a big performance.

He will be supported by indie band Sammy Rae & The Friends and North West London's own Essence Martins.

Wednesday, July 10 - Ronan Keating

Originally shooting to fame in the early 90s as a member of Boyzone, Ronan Keating has proven he can more than hold his own as a solo artist. His debut album in 2000 shot to number one in the UK charts and produced ballads When You Stay Nothing at All and Life is a Rollercoaster. He's been a mainstay of the world's music scene ever since, having sold a global 20 million records.

X-Factor's Lucy Spraggan and singer-songwriter Tom Speight will open for the former boy bander.

Thursday, July 11 - Passenger

Passenger's mega-hit Let it Go skyrocketed to number one in 19 countries in 2013, taking the songwriter from busking on street corners to playing in arenas. He's amassed six billion streams globally in the years following and recently collaborated Ed Sheeran and Joy Vance.

He will be supported by Gabrielle Aplin and Newton Faulkner.

Friday, July 12 - JLS

Friday's headliner will have Everybody in Love. Formed during a stint on the X-Factor, JLS soon became one of Britain’s most beloved boybands. Fresh from their greatest hits tour, the boys - Aston Merrygold, JB Gill, Marvin Humes and Oritsé Williams - will perform mega hits Beat Again and Love You More and many more.

Rapper Tinchy Stryder will be their support act.

Saturday, July 13 - Beverley Knight

West End royalty will grace the stage on Saturday evening. Fresh off her Olivier Award win, Beverley Knight is no stranger to the spotlight. Known for her incredible vocal range, her hits include Shoulda Woulda Coulda, Come As You Are, and Keep This Fire Burning. She is set to star in Sister Act: The Musical later this year.

Beverley will be joined by singer-songwriter Asa and musical theatre star Marisha Wallace.

Sunday, July 14 - An Evening with Richard Ashcroft

Richard Ashcroft first came to attention with The Verve, best known for The Drugs Don't Work and Bittersweet Symphony. Solo since 1999, his most recent album Acoustic Hymns reached No.2 in the UK Album Chart in 2022.

The two-time Ivor Novello winner will be supported by Jamie Webster and Callum Beattie.

Timings for Kew the Music

The gates will open at 5pm and each show will be finished by 10:30pm.

Where do I get tickets?

Tickets can be purchased via www.kewthemusic.org.

How do I get there?

By Tube: Kew Gardens Station is the closest London Underground station. It is a simple five-minute walk from Victoria Gate entrance of the Gardens.

Wheelchair users are advised to continue their Tube journey one stop more to Richmond and get a bus to the gardens from there as there is no accessible route from Kew Gardens Station.

By train: Train services from Waterloo, via Vauxhall and Clapham Junction, stop at Kew Bridge Station.

By bus: The 65 stops close to Victoria Gate. The 237 and 267 routes stop at Kew Bridge station from where you can either walk over Kew Bridge to the Elizabeth Gate entrance or catch the 65 or 391 bus services.
