A 76-storey skyscraper and a huge 28-bed HMO are two of the most significant plans to be put before councils this week.

The skyscraper planned for Great Bridgewater Street is hoping to to become one of the tallest in Manchester city centre, if built. The massive construction would have 782 one and two-bedroom apartments, with a smaller 23-storey Viadux 2b tower having 133 affordable flats upon completion.

Over in Bury, a controversial plan for a 28-bed shared house next to Radcliffe’s Metrolink stop has re-emerged after previous plans were thrown out by the council’s planning committee at the start of the year.

Plans to build TWENTY-EIGHT bed home 50 metres from Metrolink station

In January this year, Bury council threw out similar plans for the building which proposed a 35-bed HMO with potential double occupancy.
