Key striker becomes latest player to commit future to Oxford City

JOSH Parker has become the latest Oxford City player to commit to the club next season.

The 33-year-old striker will be embarking on his third campaign with the Hoops, while aiming to keep up his excellent scoring record so far.

He found the net 22 times during his debut season with City, and bagged the fourth goal in the Vanarama National League South play-off final win against St Albans.

Parker then scored 14 times in the National League this season, and won both the Hoops’ supporters’ player and players’ player of the year awards.

His goals in the National League included efforts in wins against Boreham Wood, AFC Fylde, Woking and Wealdstone.

The Antigua and Barbuda international told the Hoops club website: “I’m pleased to re-sign. The marathon continues, we have one clear objective next season and I am looking forward to playing my part.

“I can’t wait to see all the supporters back at Oxford City for the first game of the season.”

Parker joins influential midfielders Josh Ashby, Reece Fleet and Zac McEachran in agreeing to remain at Court Place Farm.

Ross Jenkins left the Hoops at the end of the season, to take over as head coach at fellow relegated outfit Boreham Wood, with City since appointing Sam Cox as their new boss.
