Keys From The Doomed Titanic Among Extraordinary Items Up For Auction

Fancy getting your hands on Lawrence of Arabia’s headscarf? Desperate to become the owner of Winston Churchill’s Stetson?

Well get yourself down to Christie’s Out of the Ordinary auction, where these curiosities are among the lots going under the hammer.

A hundred-strong collection of fascinating oddments amassed by Jersey-based collector David Gainsborough Roberts over a 40-year period will be up for grabs in September.

The priciest lot is expected to be a glitzy 14-carat gold, diamond and enamel world heavyweight title belt owned by American boxer William Harrison “Jack” Dempsey, with an estimated price of £15,000.
