Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will miss Leicester City’s final game of the season as Enzo Maresca considers giving a final outing to players who could leave the club.

Dewsbury-Hall is the only unavailable player for City against Blackburn, the midfielder picking up a problem in the 3-0 victory over Preston as the title was sealed. He was seen at the club’s awards do on Tuesday with strapping around his ankle. Elsewhere, Jamie Vardy is available despite sustaining a nasty cut to his eye in the fixture.

But while Maresca has nearly everybody to choose from, he could base his selection on giving those who are leaving the club one more game. As things stand, six players are out of contract at City, and while Vardy looks increasingly likely to stay, winger Marc Albrighton is expected to leave.

City need three more points to reach 100 points, with a victory also taking them to 32 wins for the campaign, something not achieved in the second tier for over 100 years. But allowing players an emotional farewell could be factored into Maresca’s selection, as well as the desire to win.

“The only one is Kiernan,” Maresca said at his press conference on Friday when asked if any players were struggling with injury. “He had a small problem the other day, so he will be out. In the party, (Vardy) was fantastic, so he’s good.

“We’ll see (if changes are made), probably, we’ll see. For sure, we’re going to consider this kind of situation (players playing their final game).”

As well as Vardy and Albrighton, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Jannik Vestergaard, and Dennis Praet are coming to the ends of their contracts. Plus, Callum Doyle, Yunus Akgun, and Abdul Fatawu are playing the final games of their loan spells, albeit the latter looks set for a permanent transfer to the club.
