David Hasselhoff has made a career out of playing himself, making cameo appearances in everything from Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 to The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie to Kung Fury (which he made an amazing song/music video for).

Well, now The Hoff has an entire movie based around him, called Killing Hasselhoff, the trailer for which you can watch right here:

The plot of the film focuses on Ken Jeong's character, a nightclub owner who owes a lot of money to a loan shark and takes on the job of, would you believe, killing David Hasselhoff to get out of it.

The Hoff tries to recreate his role from Baywatch, is reunited with co-star Gena Lee Nolin (from Baywatch) and admits that he doesn't know how to be a lifeguard despite being on Baywatch. Kid Cudi is also in the film too.

OK, so the film looks pretty bad, but it'll be a way to pass a few hours on a Sunday, and you know Germans will absolutely love it.

David Hasselhoff recently appeared in the Baywatch reboot that starred Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron (but not as himself, rarely) – although unfortunately it wasn't enough to stop critics from savaging the film.

Killing Hasselhoff is available to download from September 18 and on Blu-ray/DVD from October 2.

And we'll leave you with 'Guardians Inferno', which is a right old bop:
