Kim Jong-un selects 25 virgin girls to annually join his creepy 'Pleasure Squad', a North Korean defector has revealed.

The communist tyrant picks dozens of women based on their looks and political loyalty, according to Yeonmi Park who has told how officials visit schools to seek chosen candidates. Park says she was considered twice for the dubious honour, but didn't make it due to her "family status," The Mirror reports.

The defector said: "They visit every classroom and they even go to school-yards in case they missed someone that was pretty.

"Once they find some pretty girls, the first thing they do is check into their family status their political status. They eliminate any girls with family members that have escaped from North Korea, or have relatives in South Korea or other countries."

According to the Daily Star, once selected the girls go through a medical examination to confirm their virginity. The virgin women are then put through another rigorous medical check, where minor imperfections, like tiny scars anywhere on the body, could to to them being disqualified.

The selected girls are then transferred from "all around North Korea" to the capital Pyongyang. Park explains that once selected, these girls' sole purpose becomes pleasing the dictator.

The idea of the "pleasure squad" formed in the 1970s after late North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il believed that "having sexual intimacy would give him immortality. But the father of Kim Jong-un died in 2011 from a massive heart attack, aged 70.

Park continued: "He thought 'If I pick some pretty girls, and place them where my father Kim Il-Sung stays, he might find that very pleasurable. So he picked beautiful women and put then in resorts that Kim Il-Sung visited. Kim Il-Sung was so touched that his son thought of his pleasure, and that's why he nominated Kim Jong-Il as his successor."

Kim Jong-Il created a second "Joy Division" for his own use in 1983. Park said that the makeup of the pleasure squad has been changed over the years because all three men had a different taste in women. She continued: "Kim Il-Sung had more traditional taste in women, because he was older, so he had his own group called Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble. Kim Jong-Il had this own pleasure squad called Wangjaesan Light Music Band.

"Their body types were a bit different. Kim Jong-Il preferred women taller than 160cm [about 5'2"] not that tall because Kim Jong-Il was very short."

Park says that women the previous leader Kim picked were "quite round-faced". But Kim Jong-un tends to go for more "slender" women for his personal entourage and the that the leader prefers taller, more "western-looking" women.

"There are rumours that his wife was originally in the Pleasure Squad," Park added.

According to the defector the so-called "pleasure squad" is divided into three distinct groups. One group is trained in massage, another specialises in performing songs and dances to entertain the dictator and his close associates, sometimes even appearing publicly as the Moranbong band.

The third faction is tasked with "a sexual activities division," as Park revealed, stating: "They have to be sexually intimate with the dictator, and other men.

"They have to learn how to please these men that's their only goal."

The most attractive girls are selected to serve Kim himself, while others are assigned to satisfy lower-ranking generals and politicians.

In the desperate conditions of North Korea, parents reportedly consent to their daughters joining the Pleasure Squad, seeing it as a way to ensure they won't suffer from starvation.

When members of the squad reach their mid-twenties, they are considered past their prime and are typically married off to one of the leader's bodyguards.

Park claims that retiring Pleasure Squad members view it as a privilege to choose a husband from among the eligible security personnel.

Park, who has faced scepticism with some branding her accounts of life in North Korea as overblown, asserts that the ruling Kim family are "paedophiles who expect to be worshipped as gods."
