Kim Kardashian-Natalie Krinsky-Bruna Papandrea Package Sells To Amazon MGM Studios Following Five-Studio Bidding War

EXCLUSIVE: Following a major bidding battle that went through the weekend, Amazon MGM Studios has landed an untitled thriller written by Natalie Krinsky, with Kim Kardashian attached to star and produce. Bruna Papandrea is also producing through her Made Up Stories banner alongside Krinsky.

According to sources, Amazon was one of five studios in the mix. With all being sorted out, sources close to the project say a theatrical or streaming release plan is possible, though nothing is confirmed given the early nature of the project.

Not much is known about the pic other than it being a thriller developed specifically for Kardashian. This marks the second massive package sold since the SAG-AFTRA strike ended with Kardashian front and center, after Netflix landed her comedy The Fifth Wheel over Thanksgiving; insiders say the latest deal is even more lucrative then that package.

Similar to that sale, Kardashian was very hands on in the process, appearing at every pitch meeting in recent weeks with Krinsky. It is expected that Kardashian will play a big part in the marketing, just like she is with Netflix on The Fifth Wheel.

Kardashian has been proactive in ramping up her acting over the past year and early on in the process has been taking general meetings with writers and producers, with Krinsky being one of the first. During that initial meeting the idea was hatched by Krinsky for Kardashian, and since then the writer has put together an impressive presentation delivered at each meeting.

This package is now part of a growing slate for Kardashian that includes The Fifth Wheel, from Paula Pell and Janine Brito, and of course her Hulu unscripted series The Kardashians. She also is coming off a scene-stealing role in the most recent season of FX’s American Horror Story that drew strong notices. She’s looking to build off that and jump into the feature film realm.

As for Krinsky, she cut her teeth in several high-profile writing rooms over the years including for Gossip Girl and Grey’s Anatomy. She recently made her feature directing debut on The Broken Hearts Gallery for Sony Pictures, a pic she also wrote.

Papandrea’s Made Up Stories continues to be one of the busier production banners in town, premiering five series in 2022 including Netflix’s Pieces of Her starring Toni Collette and Anatomy of a Scandal starring Sienna Miller and Michelle Dockery; the anthology Roar for Apple TV+ starring Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo, Merritt Wever and Alison Brie; the Spectrum Originals women’s basketball drama Long Slow Exhale, starring Rose Rollins; and the genre-bending romantic comedy Wolf Like Me starring Isla Fisher and Josh Gad for Peacock and Stan that that premiered its second season in October 2023. They also executive produced their first unscripted series, Undressed, for Paramount+ in Australia last October.

Kardashian, Krinsky and Papandrea are repped by WME, with Krinsky also repped by Brillstein and attorneys Tara Kole and Tiffany Graddick. Papandrea is additionally repped by attorney Barry Littman.
