Kim Kardashian thought that when she graduated from high school, her days of struggling with acne were far behind her.

But the reality star admitted that even now that she's a mother of four in her 40s, she's still battling with the rogue breakout. Luckily, she also happens to be the CEO of a skincare company that can help her tackle that issue.

In a new interview with Bustle promoting her SKKN by Kim Resurfacing Mask, Kardashian, 42, said, “I never thought I’d be getting acne in my 40s. It was definitely really interesting to experience."

And going through that experience actually inspired the types of skincare products she's been formulating for her brand.

"Luckily, I documented it, and we’ve been working on a lot of products that have taken that into account," she explained. "I never thought I would be making acne products, but that’s definitely coming in the future."

Until then, Kardashian is relying on her glam squad to keep those occasional pimples under wraps. “I think makeup is really good at covering it, but there are times when you just don’t want to wear it, and it makes you feel really insecure," the Selfish author explained. "It’s really tough when your skin goes through a lot of changes that you weren’t really expecting to go through.”

But the reality star does have one additional trick up her sleeve to stop herself from making a breakout worse than it already is.

"When you put on long fake nails and you don’t know how to function. When you do have an acne situation going on and picking will only make it worse, I’d say the best thing you can do is put on some long nails — that’ll prevent you from doing anything to your skin that you should not be doing,” Kardashian shared. "A really good high-definition mirror is the scariest but most amazing tool. I also honestly love extractor tools that just help get everything out — they’re my favorite. I do get good results from using them. I do it daily."

Kardashian added that while those have been her go-to methods for tackling problem skin, she's up for pretty much anything else too.

“If someone told me that something would help my skin, I’m definitely down to try it. I’m down to try a lot of things,” she said.

And when she says "a lot of things," she really means it. Last year, Kardashian told the The New York Times she would "eat poop every single day" if it helped her look younger.
