In pictures: Britons' nationwide tributes to King Charles ahead of coronation

Royal fans have been gearing up for Saturday’s coronation by creating tributes to King Charles.

Charles will be crowned alongside the Queen Consort this weekend in the largest military ceremonial operation in 70 years.

Hundreds of thousands of well-wishers are expected to travel to the centre of London for the ceremony and around 10,000 people will attend the coronation concert at Windsor Castle the following day.

Councils in England alone have approved 3,087 road closures for gatherings marking the royal event, according to figures from road management company one.network.

But many across the country have already started the festivities by creating tributes to the new head of state.

These include a 7ft knitted model of Charles, a giant sand sculpture, royal-inspired postbox toppers and a digital portrait of the King.
