Hull City Council's Love Your Neighbourhood project has made its way to the Kingswood area today.

The citywide initiative, Love Your Neighbourhood, will see several streets within Hull's Kingswood Ward undergo a thorough clean-up from today (Monday 8 July) to Friday 19 July, transforming the streets and instilling a fresh sense of community pride among residents.

Throughout the two-week period, the team will undertake various cleaning tasks, such as verge cutting, grounds maintenance, and street cleaning works.

The streets that will be included are Bowmont Way, Blackhall Close, Charnwood Close, and Blackwater Way.

Councillor Charles Quinn, portfolio holder for environment, expressed: "We are thrilled to announce that the next phase of the Love Your Neighbourhood project will take place in the Kingswood area. The dedicated team are ready to transform this neighbourhood, to make it a clean and welcoming place for residents to live."

"We hope everyone in the area will reap the benefits of this wonderful project."

The council is also encouraging residents to participate in the project by assisting with litter picking, and the removal of graffiti. To facilitate residents' involvement, the Love Your Street team can provide: adult and child sized litter pickers; hi-viz vests; graffiti removal kits; litter collection sacks; and gloves.

The collected rubbish will be disposed of at one of the city's household waste recycling centres, or residents can dispose it in their black, blue, or brown bins.

Cllr Quinn commented: "As well as caring for the environment, this project is about getting residents involved and bringing communities together. By getting involved with the tidy-up residents can help make a visible difference, connect with neighbours, and restore pride in the area they live."
