I knew I had made a big mistake while standing with Swifties at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour

As a seasoned concert-goer, I thought I knew better. But as I stood among the sea of Swifties at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, I quickly realised I had made a grave error.

The Eras Tour is a vibrant celebration of Taylor Swift's career. It showcases her musical evolution from her charming country roots to the more deep and introspective tone of her recent albums.

To make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime event, I meticulously planned every detail before attending, from locating the stall with the shortest merchandise queue to strategically selecting a song from her 46-track setlist to grab a G&T refill.

But seeing fans on TikTok dressed to the nines—some in corsets, garters, and cowboy boots to represent different eras—I knew I had to step up my outfit game. My usual 'jeans and a nice top' wouldn't cut it.

Embracing a Midnights-inspired look, I donned a royal blue jumpsuit reminiscent of Taylor's sequin bodysuit and accessorised with silver bedazzled items to capture the 'Bejeweled' vibe, complete with strappy silver metallic heels.

Naively, I thought my choice of shoes would be fine since we had seated tickets for her Edinburgh show. However, from the opening note of "Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince," the entire stadium was captivated and, more importantly, on their feet.

As Taylor seamlessly transitioned through her discography, each era marked by stunning visuals and a fresh pair of Christian Louboutins, the audience stayed standing, and I began to regret my footwear choice deeply.

By song 14, each beat of “…Ready for It?” was a painful reminder of my poor decision.

Despite the discomfort, I was mesmerised by Taylor's showmanship, which she maintained for an astounding three hours and 21 minutes. The production value was unparalleled, with each era boasting impressive set designs and choreographed routines.

The emotional performance of "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" was a standout, while "Shake It Off" had everyone dancing—or in my case, attempting to dance while wincing in pain.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is an unmissable event filled with hours of joy, dancing, and singing. Just do yourself a favour and wear comfortable shoes. Trust me, you’ll want to dance the night away without any regrets.
