What to know about Sydney Gordon, the 'Bachelor' contestant who's already stirring up drama on season 28
Sydney Gordon is one of the contestants on season 28 of "The Bachelor.
She's a 28-year-old vintage store owner based in Newport, Rhode Island.
Although season 28 isn't too far along yet, Sydney has already stirred drama.
Season 28 of "The Bachelor" recently kicked off, but there's already one contestant who appears to be ruffling some feathers: Sydney Gordon.
Syndey, 28, is one of 32 women competing for the affection of tennis pro Joey Graziadei on the latest season of ABC's hit reality TV show. From her first interaction with Joey during week one, she tried to establish a connection by pointing out that she's from the same state where the International Tennis Hall of Fame is located.
It might be too soon to tell, but if her meddling in the fight between Maria and Medina is any indication, she may be establishing herself as this season's villain — or a pot-stirrer for drama, at least.
Here's what to know about Sydney.
She's a vintage store owner based in Newport, Rhode Island
Sydney was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and raised in Dartmouth.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Syndey attended Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in emerging media and social media marketing and a minor in photography.
She's since traveled all over the world, including Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Greece and Australia.
Now, Sydney owns and operates a vintage store called Folk Vintage Co. She established the business in November 2021 in Newport, Rhode Island, per her LinkedIn profile. She describes herself as having "an old soul" in the bio on her shop's website.
In addition to her vintage business, Sydney also founded Syd Gord Studio in 2020. The social media agency offers clients social media management, content creation, videography, and other services.
Syndey already has a 'Bachelor' universe connection that pre-dates her appearance on the show
Ashley Iaconetti, who has appeared on several of the "Bachelor" franchise shows, wore a rainbow crochet dress from Sydney's Folk Vintage Co. when she made an appearance on season eight of Bachelor in Paradise in 2020.
It could just be a coincidence, since Iaconetti's husband, Jared Haibon, is from Rhode Island. It's unclear if Sydney personally knows or interacted with the couple when Iaconetti got the dress.
"The Bachelor" season 28 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
