New ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ image shows Po defeating manta ray-like villain

Universal Pictures has released a new teaser photo for “Kung Fu Panda 4,” showing Po claiming victory against a manta ray-like creature.
What it shows: The image, released through Total Film’s X post on Thursday, shows Po in his Dragon Warrior costume sitting on the back of the villainous character. He also uses his opponent's tail to tie them into submission.
The unidentified character was initially teased in the film's official trailer released on Dec. 13, 2023. As depicted, it appears capable of flying and fighting in the air.

Meanwhile, one Reddit user questioned the villain's backstory, pointing out that they “don’t seem to be one of The Chameleon’s (Viola Davis) transformations based on the lack of scales.”
Others said the character could be an opponent meant to reintroduce Po at the beginning of the movie or that their fight could simply be a dream sequence.
About the cast: Set for release on March 8, “Kung Fu Panda 4” will see Jack Black’s return as the Dragon Warrior Po alongside other cast members, including James Hong as Mr. Ping and Dustin Hoffman as Shifu.
They will be joined by newcomers Viola Davis as The Chameleon, Awkwafina as Zhen and Oscar-winning actor Ke Huy Quan as Han.
