Which Kardashian has made the most money since KUWTK started?

Love it or hate it - Keeping Up With The Kardashians is a solid part of reality TV popular culture.

After 20 seasons and 14 spinoffs, we’re certainly used to seeing Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kylie, Kendall, Kris, Caitlyn and Rob on our screens.

On this day 14 years ago, Keeping Up With The Kardashians (KUWTK) aired its first episode on the E! network in the US, kicking off a new documentary-style look into the lives of what would become the world’s most famous family.

Money talks

Since KUWTK first hit our screens, the Kardashian family have been hard at work. As well as filming, the family have also been managing their own businesses and solo projects.

From Kylie Cosmetics to Skims, Dash, Poosh and Kendall’s 818 tequila - the girls sure have been busy.

But surprisingly, only one Kardashian is a billionaire, and it’s not who you think.

Although Forbes previously reported that Kylie Jenner had become a billionaire following the release of Kylie Cosmetics, the numbers were found to be inflated, with Kylie’s net worth sitting at a steady US$900 million ($1.2 billion AUD).

Older Jenner sister, Kendall, is worth US$45 million ($61.2 million AUD), while brother Rob Kardashian is worth US$10 million ($13.6 million AUD).

Momager Kris Jenner is worth a whopping US$190 million ($258.4 million AUD), with ex-partner Caitlyn Jenner’s net worth estimated at US$100 million ($136 million AUD).

Kourtney Kardashian’s net worth is a reported US$45 million ($61.2 million AUD), with Khloé Kardashian is worth about US$50 million ($68 million AUD).

And, middle sister Kim takes the cake with an estimated net worth of US$1 billion ($1.3 billion AUD).

Rise to fame

Prior to the show’s beginnings, the Kardashian family was already well-known due to Kris Jenner’s ex husband Robert Kardashian, who defended OJ Simpson in in infamous murder case in which he was eventually acquitted.

Caitlyn Jenner (then known as Bruce Jenner) was also a very well known Olympic gold medalist and motivational speaker.

Kim had also made a name for herself as a Hollywood socialite, befriending Paris Hilton at the height of her fame.

Prior to the release of the world’s most popular reality show, Kim had also made a sex tape with rapper Ray J which was leaked.

Kris Kardashian had expressed interest in a reality show, which was picked up by Ryan Seacrest who modelled the show off of the popular Osbournes reality format.

When Episode 1 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians aired on October 14, 2007 we learned that the other members of the Kardashian clan had their own interesting lives.

Reality bites

Since the show’s humble beginnings, we’ve certainly felt like we’ve been a part of the Kardashian family, after witnessing some truly private moments.

From processing Kim’s Paris robbery to the recent Tristan Thompson cheating scandal, KUWTK has shown us a number of difficult moments.

The public were given a glimpse into the harsh reality of maintaining a relationship in the spotlight, as we saw Kim and Kris Humphries, Khloé and Lamar Odom and Kourtney and Scott Disick break up.

But viewers were also gifted with some inspiring human moments too including the sisters’ birth stories, and a glimpse into Caitlyn’s transition.

Some ultimately timeless moments to come from the show include Kim crying that she’d lost her $75,000 earring, to which Kourtney responded: “Kim there are people that are dying.”

And, who can forget the timeless: “Kim stop taking pictures, your sister’s going to jail” moment from season three.

The show, which has now aired its final season, has won several Teen Choice awards, and maintains its spot as one of the E! network’s most well performing shows.

All of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters are a part of Instagram’s Top 20 Most Followed list, showing that even though KUWTK is over, the world is still keen to be a part of these girls’ lives.
