Kym Marsh is sending love on behalf of the cast of Coronation Street to former co-star John Michie following the death of his daughter.

25-year-old Louella passed away at Bestival 2017 after taking "an illegal substance", her family said last week. A 28-year-old man arrested under suspicion of murder has since been released "under investigation" by police.

Kym Marsh responded to the tragedy in her latest OK! Magazine column, admitting that the cast were stunned to learn of the death in their close friend's family.

"There was dreadful news this week when we heard about the tragic death of Louella Michie, 25, the daughter of John Michie, who played Karl Munro in Coronation Street from 2011 to 2013," Marsh wrote.

"We were all truly saddened to hear what had happened and everyone at Coronation Street is sending lots of love to John and his family.

"I just hope they get the answers they need and stay strong together. They're such a strong, loving family. It's utterly tragic to lose someone who is so loved, so young."
