Labour will not ‘snipe’ or ‘play political games’ over Northern Ireland deal, Starmer says

Labour will not “snipe” or “play political games” over the government’s Northern Ireland deal, Sir Keir Starmer has said.

The leader of the opposition spoke in the House of Commons on Monday evening, after Rishi Sunak laid out the agreement - made with the EU - to parliament.

“We will not snipe, we will not seek to play political games - and when the prime minister puts this deal forward for a vote, Labour will support it and vote for it,” Sir Keir told the House.
