Labour's Louise Taylor-Durant has won the by-election in Loughborough East Borough, after votes were cast yesterday.

Taylor-Durant won with 1,489 votes, while Daisy Judith Taylor, Green Party, won 510 votes and Pauline Ranson, Conservative party won 398 of the votes.

Results were announced earlier this afternoon and posted on the Charnwood Borough Council website.

The turnout for the election was 28.97%. The total number of ballot papers rejected was 21, with seven papers rejected for voting for more candidates than voter was entitled to and 14 being unmarked or wholly void for uncertainty.
