Labour wins Snibston South by-election vote
Labour has held on to Snibston South in the by-election. Catherine Beck gained 222 votes in the election after votes were cast yesterday.
Labour's June Page resigned as councillor for the Snibston South ward on Tuesday, March 12, this year, creating the vacancy.
North West Leicestershire District Council said the total votes for each party were:

Catherine Beck, Labour Party, 222 votes
Dan Roberts, Independent, 121 votes
Paul Holliday, Liberal Democrat, 71 votes
Greg Simpson, Green Party, 19 votes
The total number of ballot papers issued was 434, with one paper rejected. Turnout for the vote was 21.64 per cent.
